FORWARD DEPLOYED ENGINEER / Forward Deployed Engineer AI SOLUTIONS / PRODUCT / DELIVERY

00 / INTRODUCTION

I'm Fengyu, a Forward Deployed Engineer. For teams that need AI product development or business system integration, I provide enterprise knowledge Q&A, process automation, and AI SaaS development — from requirement validation through launch and handover.

SELECTED WORK

Unified Q&A for Documents and ERP/WMS

Connects enterprise documents, ERP orders, WMS inventory, and report data into a unified Q&A pipeline, supporting business queries, knowledge traceability, and analysis report generation.

Full-stack development / AI application development · Conceptual visuals generated from case descriptions · Not actual product screenshots

Cross-Platform Product Selection & Content Opportunity Discovery

Identifies product selection opportunities, user pain points, and content directions from multi-platform user discussions and long-tail keywords, outputting structured HTML/JSON reports that preserve source evidence.

Scenario diagnosis, usable prototypes, data & system integration, production launch, and optimization

01 SERVICES Service Capabilities

FROM FIELD TO PRODUCTION

Delivering results that actually run.

01 DISCOVERY & STRATEGY

For teams who know AI is worth trying but aren't sure what to do first. We identify high-value entry points first, then decide whether to invest in development.

  • Business processes and key bottlenecks
  • Scenario prioritization and risk assessment
  • Phased plans and delivery boundaries

02 PROTOTYPE & VALIDATE

For projects that want to reduce trial-and-error costs. Before full investment, validate effectiveness, workflows, and adoption willingness with real data and user feedback.

  • An operable workflow or Agent
  • Real data and tool integration
  • Evals of results and criteria for continuing

03 INTEGRATE & DEPLOY

For teams who have a Demo but are stuck on integration and launch. We connect the solution to existing data, permissions, and business systems, turning it into a maintainable product.

  • Full-stack product and critical paths
  • Enterprise systems, data, and model integration
  • Testing, release, and runtime monitoring

04 ADOPT & ITERATE

For systems that are already live but deliver inconsistent results. We continuously optimize around real usage and hand key capabilities back to the team.

  • Usage feedback and issue retrospectives
  • Workflow, experience, and model optimization
  • Documentation and capability handover

02 CAPABILITIES Core Capabilities

And also get systems

truly finished.

You don't have to keep translating between consulting, product, and engineering. I break business goals into verifiable solutions and carry them along a single chain of responsibility through to launch and handover.

Enter the real workflow to find the key bottlenecks affecting outcomes, rather than deriving requirements backward from model capabilities.

Quickly build operable, evaluable prototypes, and use evidence to decide whether to continue, adjust, or stop.

Connect frontend, backend, data, enterprise systems, and models so the solution fits into existing work.

Complete permissions, evals, logging, release, and handover so the system remains controllable after launch.

AI APPLICATIONS / PLATFORM ENGINEERING

And also how it gets implemented.

Each case explains what problem it solves, how the system runs, where the key engineering challenges lie, and my role in the project. You can select a case directly, or use the left/right buttons to browse and find the scenario closest to yours.

Once a case is in focus, use the left/right arrow keys to switch; Home and End jump to the first and last case.

The cases below cover both independent delivery and team collaboration, showing business goals, system pipelines, key engineering work, and my scope of delivery. To protect our partners, client-sensitive materials, team member information, and unverified results are not published.

05 PROCESS How We Work

DISCOVER. PROTOTYPE. DEPLOY. ITERATE.

Then push the proven solution to production.

  • 01DISCOVER Align on outcomes and boundaries Define the business outcomes to improve, the real users, the available data, and the untouchable constraints.
  • 02PROTOTYPE Eliminate the biggest risk with a prototype Validate the most critical workflows and effects first, so that continuing, adjusting, or stopping is all evidence-based.
  • 03DEPLOY Integrate with existing systems and go live Complete the data, permissions, exception handling, testing, and release pipelines to turn a demo into a runnable product.
  • 04ITERATE Continuously optimize with real usage Improve workflows, experience, and models based on feedback, and complete documentation and team handover.

06 PHILOSOPHY My Philosophy

"Never settle for a demo — make AI actually used and running reliably in real business."

I first judge whether a scenario is worth doing, then choose a solution simple enough to validate. True delivery is more than code: it includes business adoption, data and permission boundaries, operational stability, and a long-term maintenance approach the team can take over.

07 PUBLIC LEARNING GUIDE FDE Growth Handbook

HOW TO BECOME AN FDE

Start with verifiable delivery evidence.

This public Chinese-language tutorial is for learners with programming fundamentals but zero FDE experience. It doesn't require memorizing tool lists; instead, it takes you from understanding the role and identifying skill gaps all the way through customer discovery, engineering delivery, AI evals and productionization, portfolio building, and interview preparation.

Who it's for Learners who can build small-to-medium services in at least one programming language, know Git, HTTP APIs, SQL, and basic testing, and are willing to invest 8–12 hours per week following the standard path.

  • Standard Learning Path
  • 20–28 weeks
  • FDE Capability Matrix
  • 6 dimensions
  • Progressive hands-on projects
  • 3 projects
  • 01Understand the role Distinguish the FDE from adjacent roles and complete a target-role brief.
  • 02Assess your gaps Use the six-dimension capability matrix to find your weaknesses and make a 30-day plan.
  • 03Customer discovery Converge vague AI requirements into a verifiable Discovery Brief.
  • 04Engineering and AI Build the data foundation, RAG baseline, evals, and MCP tool boundaries.
  • 05Production delivery Complete authentication, permissions, monitoring, SLOs, rollback, drills, and handover.
  • 06Turn work into evidence Organize decisions, failures, and results into portfolio and interview evidence.

CAPSTONE / Graduation Project

The tutorial provides a v0.1 project contract, design, and acceptance specifications; you need to complete a deployable, evaluable, auditable, degradable, rollback-capable, and handover-ready vertical slice yourself — not copy a ready-made business codebase.

In the end, you'll produce a Discovery Brief, versioned eval sets, a threat model, operational evidence, a runbook, and a portfolio evidence chain.

This is not a job guarantee; application requirements should still follow the target company's latest job descriptions.
